Here are my entries:
This photo was taken whilst sipping sweet mint tea at a cafe overlooking Djemma El-Fna, Marrakech. As dusk falls, the square bursts into life with street performers, snake charmers, music and chefs sizzling and barbecuing all sorts of meats at their respective stalls whilst diners eat on simple tables next to them. I love the atmospheric steam hiding eager, hungry faces and the blurred bodies bustling around their kitchens in this photo.
This must go down as the most stunning sunrise I have ever seen. The early morning view from dune 41 – the world’s most photographed sand dune – in Namibia. Otherworldly and epically rural – you are drawn back in time to the beginnings of the Earth.
Hard not to choose another photograph from the extremely photogenic Namibian desert. This caly pan is a little further on from dune 41 – Deadvlei, a land of petrified acacia trees, crusty, cracked parched earth and vivid colour. Barely a single cloud stained the electric blue of the sky.
England on a sunny autumn day is a striking myriad of colour. This shot was taken at Westonbirt Arboretum – every which way you turned, the trees lit up the landscape with fiery burst of colour.
Ooooh just looking at that evil eye, gnarled body and sharp gnashers sends shivers down my spine! This croc photo was taken during an evening river cruise on the Chobe river in Botswana.
